What prompted you to launch Paloroma?
        What was your inspiration?

Paloroma is 1000% inspired by our children, Roman and Paloma. We work for them! I started to really educate myself about clean beauty and what I was putting on my skin when I was pregnant with Roman. That was the beginning of this journey. Then once he was born, we didn't feel like we could find anything that was clean, gentle, effective, and that we connected with in a more personal lifestyle sense. We made Paloroma to be beautiful on the inside and out. We wanted to create something that felt timeless and special, but also whimsical, fun and not self-serious—something that would appeal to both parents and children. Becoming a parent is such a joyful experience, but it can also be overwhelming. We want to help make that transition easier for parents. Create something they can trust and believe in, and that
adds value and beauty to their lives.
What ingredients did you focus on and why?
        What properties/benefits do they have?

We worked on the formulations for two years. We were really lucky to find a wonderful partner in Vermont, who is collaborative and patient because we are really really picky and refused to make any concessions when it came to what went into each product. The Cloud 9 daily cream for face and body is powered by shea butter and three different types of plant extracts: safflower seed, jojoba seed, and sea buckthorn oil. They're nutrient rich and especially effective at treating sensitive, dry, chapped skin, and maintaining the skin’s natural elasticity. The Clean Bean wash for hair and body has chamomile extract, which nourishes; lavender extract, which calms; and aloe, which moisturizes and creates a protective layer. And the Smooth Sailing gentle cleansing bar for face and body has shea butter to moisturize and soothe; Roman chamomile, which moisturizes, reduces inflammation, and calms sensitive skin; and colloidal oatmeal, which moisturizes, reduces redness and skin irritation and is a great natural remedy for eczema-prone skin. It was equally important to us not to use perfumes in any of our products. We think kids should smell like kids!

Can you talk a bit about your “pinky swear” to parents?

There were hundreds if not thousands of ingredients that were on our no! list, but we wanted to highlight some of the most prominent ones as a quick, easy checklist for parents, just to offer some peace of mind. Our mission from day one was to be a modern baby and child brand that’s pure and transparent in its ingredients and isn’t dumbed down in its design. A brand kids can grow with and parents can connect with. We see our pinky swear promise as one
        very small part of that.
