        Maisonette Muse: Glenna Neece

Former model-turned-mama Glenna Neece is our latest Muse, and life in her family’s Cobble Hill townhouse is anything but ordinary. Married to Marcus Wainwright, the mastermind behind the wildly successful fashion label Rag & Bone, Neece, an artist, infuses everyday life with a healthy dose of creativity and fun. Here are a few of her favorite things.

        What’s your morning mama routine?

        Meditate, matcha, (somewhat) controlled chaos.

How would you describe your style? Do you dress your mini-me to reflect it?

Chameleon. I wear what I feel like wearing, and of course, that changes. Noah, my 9 year old son, is only into Adidas track pants and tees. Henry, 7, has his own style that I admire and I look forward to seeing his choices each and every day. With Cate, I still have some input, but we are reaching that point where she knows what she likes and that is that.

How has your style changed since you became a mother?

Not a great deal, but I don’t think about what I am wearing quite so much.  That is, I don’t have a lot of time in the morning to spend in front of the mirror, so I choose, get dressed, and move on.

Left to their own devices, what are the wackiest looks your children have ever put together?

A few days ago, Henry cut up an old pair of my jeans and put together a Viking ensemble. Waistband as sash, 1/2 leg as helmet...

What looks are trending now in the Wainwright/Neece household?

NBA looks for Noah, 1970s rainbows/flowers shorts/tees/overalls for Cate, and Henry is a wild card.

        Favorite kid’s activities right now?

Playing dress up is a big thing in our home. Henry dresses up and goes on adventures into the woods, and Cate dresses up like a princess. Noah is into basketball and bike riding.

        What’s your go-to kid’s meal when you’re in a hurry?

I admit, Annie’s peace sign Mac & Cheese!

        Mama must-have?

        Rose Water

What’s one thing you wish you had known before becoming a mother?

I wish I’d known that I would need a strong support network and that I could not do it all on my own!

What has been your proudest moment?

Seeing my children being kind to each other and caring for one another.

Greatest lesson your own mother taught you?

        To find my inner strength.

Value you most want to instill in your children?

        Kindness for themselves and others.

You know you’ve been a good mama when...

My children are happy to lie around on a blanket in the sunshine with me, just enjoying the moment together.
