Young children don't need the latest and greatest, new flashy toys to enjoy, but well-made, beautiful, and purposeful gifts are perfect for the family looking for presents that their children can continue to use as they grow. Here are our favorite Montessori-inspired gifts for your little one to spark creativity, learning, and joy this holiday season. You could also consider gifting museum or zoo memberships, a subscription to a children's magazine like Highlights, a book subscription, or experiences to celebrate the season, like a special outing.

        Montessori Baby Gifts

        • Babies go through a developmental experience of showing interest in finding tags on toys. They feel success in grabbing and pinching tags both with their hands and their mouth. A plush toy makes that need very easy, and it is cute and cuddly too!

        • There is lots to explore with this tool box toys to encourage dexterity and hand-eye coordination. It also allows for some arm strength and movement in a safe, playful way. Children need repetition to build skill, so when the baby is done, try a different angle to repeat the motions.

        • Visual tracking is an important developmental stage for your toddler, and they will delight in following the ball's steady movements in a Marble Run.

        • Your baby will find interest in lacing toys like this Lacing Roller Skate–placing the shoelace through the tiny holes, working on that hand-eye coordination again. This will be indirect preparation for eventual sewing and strengthening the hand for later fine motor skills.

        • Foster your child’s creativity with these Coburg Building Blocks or Bad Rodach Building Blocks that encourage stacking. They will work on their precision and careful approach to placing one on top of the other. Later, mix in some tiny dolls or lego figurines for them to extend the independent play further!

        • The lacing hold and movement foster your child's pincer grip while creating patterns and trackable paths in the Jungle Lacing Cards or Baby Animal Lacing Cards.

        • These lacing beads will prepare the child's hand for the correct pincer grip. These colorful educational will allow your child to test their creativity while building hand strength.

        • Show your child how to care for their Miniland Doll as they learn how to independently care for themself, and establish the building blocks of social and emotional learning. For example, you can practice getting dressed in the morning or getting ready for bed. Bonus if you are expecting a sibling and can show them what needs a new little one will have.

        Child 4-6 Years Old

        • A music box is a place for all your child's loved treasures and tiny objects. Not only for jewelry, but tiny rocks and acorns found outside, letters and notes from friends, and so forth. Give your child somewhere safe and special to store their beloved belongings.

        • Arranging the tiny sequences in Pixel Art to create images requires and fosters concentration and focus. Following directions, patterns, and the use of fine motor skills are all tied into the use of this beautiful sparkling, shimmering set!

        • Each piece easily connects to the next and lets your imagination create colorful flat mosaics or work in 3-D to make more intricate builds with a Plus-Plus Dinosaur Bundle.

        • We love the cutest T-strap shoes for independent on/off practice and self-esteem building!

        Child 6-8 Years Old

        • Forage, saw, drill, and join with a Terra Kids Connectors Set. All techniques your child will be looking to master as they progress in concentrating and playing independently.

Wooden Chinese Checkers gives your child a chance to practice strategy and critical thinking. They can play one-on-one or with three, four, or six people, playing individually or with partners! This age group is searching for social interaction, and the appeal of coming together with a shared purpose and objective will be inviting.

        • Puzzles help children develop finger strength, perseverance, and problem-solving skills. We love these colorful finds featuring: rainbow flora & fauna and dogs in the park.
