St. Frank
Indigo VII Framed Accent Print, Blue
or 4 interest-free payments
Description
This archival print is float-mounted on a natural linen, which provides a 1" border between the print and frame. The piece is offered in a lucite frame, and the print itself is subtly blind embossed with our monogram in the bottom right hand corner. The frame is equipped with wire to be hung either vertically or horizontally. Framed dimensions are 20.5" W x 23.5" H.
Print Provenance: In ancient times, from opulent Egypt to stark West Africa, fabric has been dyed a mysterious, beautiful blue. This indigo, or "gold blue," is a sign of prestige and a symbol of the link between heaven and earth. Through a careful process, indigo can produce a vast palette of blue hues; traditional dyers would ask their customers' color preferences, from the palest sky to the deepest midnight. Dye vats alone take a full week to prepare and require daily stirring. The un-dyed cloth is pinched, sewn, and tied according to precise patterns. Once dye is applied to the material, the ties are removed, revealing patterns of lines, shells, dots, or tracery.
About St. Frank: St. Frank is a globally-inspired brand dubbed the “bohemian home-décor Mecca” by Vogue. Their products, including their signature framed textiles, are ethically made by artisans around the world working in traditional crafts. Each piece comes with a rich history to share.
