        Travel Diaries

        Heather Taylor

Mother of two and founder of an eponymous home line, Los Angeles-based Heather Taylor takes a road trip to Sequoia National Park en famille.

"This was our first road trip with the girls and we 100% gave in to the power of the iPad. The girls watched non-stop shows in the backseat while Alex and I binged on podcasts up front! All things considered, it was pretty painless!"

"We stayed in the one lodge in the middle of Sequoia National Forest and the restaurant there was the only option for all of our meals. Three meals a day with little kids in one dining room and the same limited menu is a lot to ask. We finally reached a breaking point when my two and a half year old threw a crayon into the hair of a neighboring diner (thankfully, she had little kids too and all was quickly forgiven). We decided that for our next dinner, which happened to be New Year's Eve, we would order food and bring it down to the kids’ lounge. Scarlett and Goldie played games while casually nibbling on fries and we enjoyed burgers and margaritas without the pressure of being in a big dining room. Not exactly my dream vision for New Year's Eve but it actually ended up being the best meal of the trip!"
