Home Inspo: Fashion Guitar x Maisonette

Upon moving into a new apartment, Fashion Guitar’s Charlotte Groeneveld and soon to be mother of three, enlisted Maisonette to help create the perfect big kid rooms for her daughter, Stella and son, James. Here are her top picks, plus five tips for creating a room they’ll love now and later.

        Enlist Your Little

When it comes to creating a room they'll love, getting their input is key. For Stella, she loved the Scarlet Stripe Wallpaper, but the most important thing was a bunk bed. It was non-negotiable. We chose the Ouef Perch Twin Bunk Bed because it's beautiful, safe and functional.

        Mix and Match

For James, we combined classic design with bright colors and unexpected details. I just love the juxtaposition of the Kelly Green Emerson Bed and the Crystal Clear Acrylic Book Case.

        Mind The Details

I tried to choose art and accessories that would grow with them, from Oliver Gal Artist Co. pictures that feel super elevated to the sleek gold Bartolo Table Lamp.

        Think Ahead

For James, we really wanted to create a big boy room. That was our main goal. He got a bigger bed, which he was so excited about and we chose this sophisticated Parker Desk which will definitely grow with him.

        Have Fun!

Whether it is playing with pattern or color like this Mia + Finn sheet set or embracing the unexpected with a Gray Malin picture, try not to take it too seriously and you will have fun creating a space your big kid will love.
